Started playing Final Fantast Tactics on my Vita for the first time a couple days ago. I had a version for the GBA years ago, but it never really struck a chord with me for some reason. Gotta say, I'm really enjoying it so far.
But man, that game has a steep learning curve. I had to retry the second or third level like 4 times because there's an option to save an NPC character who runs off and gets his ass killed within the first three moves before you can even get men within range to help him.
Finally I gave up and took the second option to throw him to the wolves, and low and behold he doesn't die! GAH!
They really don't tell you much about the upgrade system either. I didn't even realize I could change jobs and teach my units new abilities until getting my ass handed to me in the third story mission. I suppose I could have playd the turorial, but I hate playing through tutorials since they generally spend 90% of their time telling you things that you already know and 10% telling you new stuff. I kindof wish they had taught you about unit upgrades through the actual gameplay itself.
Anyways... complaints aside, it's a pretty great game.
